A reminder to stop and smell the roses
Last week I took a friend of mine to her dentist appointment in Marshall and came into town on Hwy. 59. As we came up to the first stop sign, I said to me friend, “What is that on the road up there” and all of a sudden cars started stopping, and we wondered what was going on. We got closer and here was a mother goose with five babies following her. They had been on the Walmart side and came across a four-lane highway, just taking their time.
They were all in a straight line and all looking straight ahead. None of them even turned their heads to see the traffic coming for them.
It was magical how traffic just started stopping. It was like no matter where people needed to get to, it was more important that this family got across these four lanes of traffic to get to the side of Goodwill.
No one honked as to say, “Get out of the way!” Everyone was very patient. I thought to myself how wonderful it was. It stopped us all for a while. Why don’t we do that more often and just witness all the good things going to around us?
Time goes by so fast. I wish we could just take in all the good sights, sounds and precious minutes and not take everything for granted in life, as it can all be gone in a second?
I am so happy I got to see that miracle today on that highway and there are others if we would just top and take a minute to see them and not just all the bad things.
Thank you for taking a minute to read this.
