Fifty-six Tracy Area High School seniors are more than ready to don their “Panther Blue” caps and gowns for this year’s Tracy Area High School commencement ceremony, which is at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

This year’s seniors were eighth-graders when the pandemic hit in 2020. As some of the youngest in the high school at the time, they learned all about e-learning and were also among the youngest to have to matriculate at the Veterans Memorial Center.

Their learning experience was also greatly affected for two years by the multi-phase construction project.

The time to look ahead is near, but before that, it’s graduation time.

This year’s class speakers are: Trevor Smith (Welcome), Marin Knott (Past), Abbie Chandler (Present), Jonathan Reyes-Rodriguez (Future) and Kendra Timmerman (Farewell).

The motto for the Class of 2025 is “There are no shortcuts to a place worth going;” and its class colors are gold and silver. Their class song is “Good Old Days” by Macklemore, and the class flower is the flag red rose.

The TAHS band and choir will perform at various times during the ceremony.

Diplomas will be presented by TAPS Supt. Chad Anderson, District No. 2904 School Board Chair Rod Benson and board member Jeff Knott. TAHS Principal Tony Miller will introduce the valedictorian and salutatorian. Ryan Kruse will serve as the tassel turner.
