Prairie View News

This past week we celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care week. The theme for the week this year was, The Tapestry of Life. To start off the week, on Monday residents went for a spring ride in the van through Garvin park and then returned to Prairie View for ice cream sundaes.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme for the week, residents had the opportunity to design their own paper quilt to hang on their door, along with the varying designs, residents could choose to write on their quilt squares focusing on either events or activities in their life that have been important to them. When their project was completed, it was hung up on their room door. Wednesday afternoon residents and families had the opportunity to meet with our area Ombudsman, Deb Vizecky, while enjoying root beer floats. Later that afternoon we were treated to the music of Happy to Be Here. Residents enjoyed the music of Darwin and Samson, and watching Samson’s twin girls Josephine and Charlotte. Thursday afternoon for our Ladies Tea, Prairie View staff members hosted a “Wacky Fashion Show.” Items modeled included a spring hat(hat with a slinky), a ball gown(dress with pompoms attached), a checkered dress(dress covered in blank checks) and many other silly outfits. Friday afternoon we completed our week of special events with games and popcorn.

Thank you to all the staff who assisted with making this a special week for everyone and to the family members who joined us.

Thank you to Pastor Deb for leading the Chapel service this week and to Marianne Ankrum for the Catholic Communion Service.
