May 26, 1955 — Tepeeotah Resort, pavilion and tavern, will be operated by Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Alexander it was announced this week. Mr. and Mrs. Arden Barglof previously ran the resort on Lake Shetek. The new operators plan a full season of activities including dancing and roller skating with a dance Memorial Day and special Fourth of July program with fireworks. Picnic grounds will be improved and a softball field made available. Grand opening of the resort is planned for early June, the Alexanders stated.

May 27, 1965 — H.A. “Hec” Surprenant this week ended 35 years of live- stock and general trucking service when he completed sale of his business to Vincent H. Anderson of Walnut Grove. In the future, the business firm name will be “Vincent Anderson Trucking” and the local operation will be handled by his brother, Kenneth, who will move here with his family in the near future. Sale included three semi-trailers and one straightjob truck. Surprenant’s drivers Merrill Flatequal and Edwin Lawer will continue with Anderson.

May 22, 1975 — Jerry and Sandy Cochran are the new owners of the Amber Beacon, grocery store and service center formerly operated six years by Roger and Mrs. Reisdorph on Murray County Road 15 leading to the Tepeeotah area of Lake Shetek. The new Amber Beacon are former residents. Jerry worked four years for the Tracy Bottling Co., and was employed by Wausau Homes.

May 23, 1985 — The former American Legion, now the Tracy Veterans Center, has hired Mr. Jim Sik as their manager. The club will open June 1. The center will be available for private functions. The food for large parties, weddings, class reunions etc. will be catered by the Mediterranean.

May 24, 1995 — Eric Stefanick has been accepted for admission into Mankato State University for fall 1995. Stefanick will major in electrical engineering. He has been active in student council and has served as its treasurer this year. He is vice president of the National Honor Society, a Peer Counselor, member of the French Club, school photographer, track, school play, intramural basketball, and on the A honor roll.

May 25, 2005 — TAHS students dutifully reported to the gym Wednesday, but when teachers John Coulter, Gayle Myhr, and Jeff “Jesse” James were escorted into the gym moments later, the bleachers erupted in a thunderous ovation. Students had planned a surprise farewell program for the three teachers, who are retiring at the end of the current school year. Each has been a Tracy Public School teacher for 34 years.

May 27, 2015 — Three class valedictorians were announced at Tracy Area High School’s commencement Sunday. Cassandra Hook, Samantha Gervais, and Jackson Pond share the honor of ranking at the top of their class academically. Principal Kathy Vondracek, who announced the valedictorian honors, said that all three seniors finished high school with a cumulative 4.0 gradepoint average.“As you can see, we had a lot of competition in this class,” she said.
