Friends of the Casey Jones Trail Association to hold annual meeting in Currie

The Friends of the Casey Jones State Trail Association cordially invites the public to attend its Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 12, at 5:30 p.m. at the End-O-Line Park shelter in Currie.

This special gathering will feature a light meal, a short business meeting, and several guest speakers sharing updates and insights about the trail. Elizabeth Schreier will also present on the exciting efforts of the Currie Revitalization Group. The event offers a great opportunity to learn more about current and future plans for the trail, connect with others who are passionate about outdoor recreation, and explore how you can get involved.

There is no charge to attend, and all are welcome. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or just curious about the trail, we encourage you to join us. We especially welcome new members who want to help shape the future of this unique regional asset.

Please RSVP by June 9 to help us plan for food. Contact Myron Koets, president, at 507-215-0538 or [email protected].

The Casey Jones State Trail includes three segments:

• An 18-mile former railroad grade between Pipestone and Woodstock;

• a 1.5-mile natural-surface trail west of Lake Wilson;

• a 6-mile paved loop connecting Lake Shetek State Park and Currie

The trail is owned by the State of Minnesota and managed by the Department of Natural Resources. The Friends of the Casey Jones State Trail Association is a non-profit group advocating for the trail’s continued development and maintenance.
