June 3, 1965 — Roger Flatequal was the standout performing in Sunday’s 4-0 Engineers Balaton game, having a no-hitter going through eight and one-third innings while chalking up 10 strikeouts. Tracy got hits from Bill Kluevein, Lyle Goltz and Jerry Mickelson.
May 29, 1975 — The Minneota Vikings won the “rubber” game here Tuesday afternoon and eliminated the Tracy Scrappers from the district playoffs, 7-2. The Scrappers picked up eight hits — two apiece by Dave Sebastian, Jeff Peterson and Dave Wilking. Steve Hannig and Torre Nelson got the other two singles.
May 30, 1985 — The Tracy Scrappers won their sixth consecutive District 9 title Tuesday with a 2-0 win over Cottonwood. With the win, Tracy advanced to Region 3 competition Tuesday against Montevideo at Springfield. Outstanding pitching and two Cottonwood fielding miscues keyed the Tracy win. Tracy’s Doug Hatch and Jason Fischer of Cottonwood were locked in a scoreless pitching duel until Tracy batted in the bottom of the sixth. Bryan Koopman and Jim West scored the only runs.
May 31, 1995 — The Tracy-Milroy golf teams sent one girl and three boys to the sectional meet held in Marshall Friday. None of the golfers qualified for the state meet, but all shot respectable scores on the rainsoaked course. Tracy-Milroy’s Melissa Erbes carded a 97 to fall eight strokes back of the slate qualifying 89 but her score was well up in the top 50% of the participants. For the boys, Andy Rau led in scoring with an 87. Brian Knochenmus fired an 89 and Brad Hengel a 92.
June 22, 2005 — The Milroy Legion baseball team beat Appleton 7-6 at Milroy Thursday. “We won the game on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning,” said Milroy Coach Derek Flann. Sean Castle led the 11 hit Milroy attack with 3 hits while Matt Bauer and Derek Radke had 2 each.
June 3, 2015 — Two Panthers will be shooting for lofty heights at the state track meet at Hamline University. Sophomore Kendra Ludeman will be competing in the girls’ high jump, while Asa Nelson is an entry in the boys’ pole vault. The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton athletes qualified for state with top performances at the Section 3A meet in Luverne Thursday. Ludeman won the regional competition with a jump of five feet, one inch. Last year, Ludeman placed third in the state Class A meet by clearing 5 feet, three inches. Nelson successfully made 12 feet to finish second in the pole vault. Both Nelson and pole vault champion Anthony Bossuyt of Lakeview cleared 12 feet, but Bossuyt took first because he had fewer misses.
