We decorated our dining room tables with small flags and red and blue flowers in recognition of Memorial Day. One of our veterans purchased roses and was assisted by staff to distribute them to the other veterans living at Prairie View.
Tuesday , a large group gathered in the day room for an afternoon of Family Feud. The baking group met this week and tried a new recipe, a brown sugar topped rhubarb cake. We served it to the residents at coffee time on Thursday afternoon. Thank you to Pastor Chuck Swanson for the Chapel service, to Maydra Maas for playing the piano for the service and to Fr. Andy for Catholic Mass.
The day we had set aside to do some outdoor gardening, the weather did not cooperate with us. We gathered indoors instead for a word game. We are looking forward to planting our garden boxes on the patio again this year. The indoor gardening group started tomatoes plants by planting slices of tomatoes. We usually have a sweet potato vine ready to add to our flowers. We have a sweet potato that we have in water, but the vine is not quite ready for a flower pot .
Thank you to Alita Lenertz for the summer time themed cards for everyone.
Mark your calendars, we will be hosting our annual Pie and Ice Cream Social on June 26, from 5-7 at the Caboose.
