June 9, 1955 — A meeting, open to the public, in the Municipal building to hear facts and study the proposed blending of an Armory building with the present Municipal building. Early this week Wm. R. Mitchell, chairman of the Armory planning committee, received pertinent facts and information from Adj. Gen. Joe E. Nelson of St. Paul, giving approval of the jointbuilding proposal and giving architects estimate of cost, which is $22,150.

June 10, 1965 — Dennis Fultz and Allen Ludeman will leave by plane from Minneapolis Monday at 7 a. m. for a 21-day peopleto- peoplc goodwill tour of Europe. Heading the 18-member Future Farmer of America group will be George Nornes, Climax, a high school vocational agriculture instructor. The group will visit Scotland, England, France, Belgium, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, East and West Berlin and Denmark.

June 6, 1983 — The Minnesota State Horticultural Society’s 30th annual all-day convention of the Fourth District will be held on Tuesday, June 11, at the Tracy High School, Tracy, with “Nature’s Charms” as the convention theme. Greetings to Conventioners and the extension of “Welcome to Tracy” will be given by Harriet Hemmingsen. Arlene Williams of Brewster, Fourth District president, will preside.

June 8, 2005 — Karly Ruppert is one of the local equestrians saddling up this weekend for the Plum Creek Saddle Club’s annual show. Horses have long been a part of her life. The rural Currie teen spends about three hours every day working with horses, Her father, Karl, has passed on his love of horses to Karly and her older sister, Tory. “Sis,” the horse Karly rides, is one of eight horses on the Ruppert farm. “Eight is after we cut back,” Karly said. This weekend Karly will be riding in the “English Pleasure” category, one of many styles of riding a horse. During the competition, the judge tells the rider how to pace the horse, from a walk, trot, and canter, which is similar to galloping.

June 10, 2015 — Local emergency responders trained for a tragedy they hope they never experience last week. A “mass casualty” drill at Tracy Area High School gave law enforcement, ambulance, and fire department personnel hands on training in how to react to a horrific event, such as a shooting or explosion. Several scenarios involving a gunman and mass casualties were played out at Tracy Area High School Thursday afternoon. About two-dozen local students and school staff portrayed the victims.
