The Tracy American Legion baseball team lost 5-1 to Slayton on Monday, giving up four runs in the seventh on a grand slam.
Trevor Smith was 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, and Connor Lanoue had two hits as well.
Knakmuhs threw four innings, allowing one run. Aiden Sanow suffered the loss.
“For having two weeks off, we played pretty good defense,” manager James Fultz said. “The at-bats were a bit rusty, but that’ll happen when you don’t see live pitching for that long. Getting back into game rhythm may take some time, but this group will do it. Getting as much baseball in as we can will help for next spring.”
Tracy (0-1) will host Adrian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
