Minnwest Bank, in partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, announces that Tracy Area United Fund has been awarded a $10,000 in grants through the Member Impact Fund.
This matching grant program will result in FHLB Des Moines awarding $20 million in funding to support affordable housing and community development in Minnesota.
“Minnwest Bank fosters a culture of volunteerism and altruism across its 34-branch footprint, all part of our purpose of building strong, vibrant communities,” said Ivan Van Essen, President of Minnwest Bank.
Each recipient organization was nominated by local Minnwest Bank staff, with Minnwest Bank submitting a donation and FHLB Des Moines matching the donation 3-fold. In total, Minnwest Bank donated $245,100 to 50 Minnesota nonprofit organizations, with FHLB Des Moines contributing $735,300, for a total award of $980,400.
Locally, the Minnwest Bank Tracy branch contributed $2,500, with FHLB Des Moines contributing $7,500 toward Tracy Area United Fund.
“Our Minnwest Bank Tracy team is exceptionally involved in community volunteerism, and we are proud to have nominated Tracy Area United Fund,” said Darcy Carlson, Tracy Market President. “This grant will help support the organization in providing for basic needs, child and elder care, and other services to our neighbors in need.”
Recipient organizations were selected based on the needs for grant funding to support capacity-building or working capital necessary to strengthen their ability to serve affordable housing or community development needs including job training, affordable housing, financial literacy, food banks and youth programs.
