A gathering in observance of the service of Hmong and Lao veterans of the war in Southeast Asia will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Walnut Grove City Park.
This event commemorates the service of Hmong and Lao veterans of the War in Southeast Asia, and thanks them and their families on this 50th year anniversary observance. The event is free and open to the public.
Families are encouraged to attend to watch the SW Nkauj Dances and enjoy refreshments from MGLX Food Truck. The pledge to the flag will be led by Walnut Grove Mayor Ron Stubbe followed by a welcome from City Councilman Yeng Yang, and comments from Lue Kue, Tracy.
Minnesota State Representative Kaohly Vang Her (SD 64A, St. Paul) and State Senator Tou Xiong (SD 44 Maplewood) will discuss a bill passed by the Minnesota legislature that marks this 50th anniversary. They will also discuss other legislation affecting rural Minnesota and the Hmong community.
