June 23, 1955 — The Milroy Legion baseball team won 7-6 over Wabasso. A two-run single by Charles Edwards, a walk a stolen base and an error provided the margin of victory. Edwards was also the winning pitcher.
June 24, 1965 — Pat Wyffels, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wyffels, will participate in the national high school rodeo at Ogallalla, Nebraska, Aug. 9. Pat placed third in saddle bronc riding at the Minnesota state high school championship rodeo at Granite Falls last Sunday. Wyffels graduated this spring from Tracy High School. He participated in the major events at the state rodeo along with two other Tracy high youth — Gene Averill and Jim Thieren.
June 19, 1975 — Tracy golfers won the first round with low team scores in the Westbrook. Tyler and Tracy “traveling trophy” tournament held at the Tracy Country Club last Sunday. The local golfers, top ten best of all participating, chalked up the low score of 843, with Brian McClellan shooting 113 for 27 holes in the championship flight. Mark Donaldson was second with 114, and Ric McClellan with 116.
June 20, 1985 — The Southern Sioux Conference named Ruth Meyer, Tracy, as the conference spring girls track coach of the year. Tracy baseball players named to the Sioux All-Conference Baseball Team for 1985 were: Greg Shaw and Doug Hatch, pitchers; Bryan Koopman, second base; and Kurt Hannasch, outfield.
June 21, 1995 — Derrick Pinckney, Tracy catcher, powered the Tracy VFW to a sweep of Marshall Orange with a pair of home runs Friday night at Tracy. The wins evened the VFW team’s season record at 2-2. Pinckney went five-for-five in the two games, including a home run in each game, to lead the attack. Jamie Louwagie added five hits in six at-bats.
June 22, 2005 — The Milroy Legion baseball team beat Appleton 7-6 at Milroy Thursday. “We won the game on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning,” said Milroy Coach Derek Flann. Sean Castle led the 11 hit Milroy attack with 3 hits while Matt Bauer and Derek Radke had 2 each.
June 24, 2015 — Tracy’s 30/60 5th and 6th grade baseball team lost last Thursday evening to the Windom Ones, 17-9. “The boys played very well for the first three innings,” commented Assistant Coach Jay Fultz. “It was a pretty even game until we made some fielding errors that allowed the score to pile up on us.”
