Irish blanked by Jordan

The Milroy Irish outhit Jordan but stranded 12 baserunners in a tough 2-0 loss on Sunday in Jordan.

Trevor Smith pitched well enough to win, going six innings, striking out five and allowed just one earned run without walking a batter.

“I was extremely happy how Trevor handled himself on the mound facing a very good hitting Jordan squad, not to mention the 99 degree temps,” Irish Manager Anthony Dolan said.

Dominic Dolan, Derek Smith and Tyler Peterson all had two hits for the Irish.

The Irish have a busy weekend ahead, hosting Fairmont at 7 p.m. on Friday, Morris at 5 p.m. on Saturday, then traveling to Hadley for a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday.
