The Murray County Classic Draft Horse Show returns to Slayton this July, when 100 of the finest draft horses will be shown during one of the best shows in the Midwest.
Get ready to witness the power, elegance, and tradition of the Murray County Classic Draft Horse Show, happening Friday, July 11, through Sunday, July 13, at the Murray County Fairgrounds in Slayton.
This three-day event will showcase the strength and beauty of Belgians, Percherons, Clydesdales, and Shires. Bring the whole family to enjoy the breathtaking sight of these gentle giants in motion.
• Friday and Saturday: Show begins at 5 p.m.
• Sunday: Show kicks off at 11:30 a.m.
On Friday evening, the show will feature the Classic Six-Horse Hitch, a crowd-favorite Boot Scramble, Four-Horse Hitch, the exciting Unicorn Hitch, and the Ladies Cart Class. Saturday’s lineup begins once again with the Classic Six-Horse Hitch, followed by Farm Teams, the Four-Horse and Unicorn Hitches, the thrilling Feed Team Race, another round of the Ladies Cart Class, and concludes with a challenging Obstacle Course. Sunday’s show highlights include Classic Carts, Farm Teams, the Draft Horse Team competition, Junior Driver Cart Class, another Feed Team Race, the Junior Driver Team event, and wraps up with the final round of the Obstacle Course.
