June 30, 1955 — The 535th Truck Transportation Company of Tracy was awarded a superior rating at the completion of training at Camp Ripley. The Tracy unit, under the command of Capt. James Cain, was the only line company in the 109th Truck Transportation Battalion to receive the superior rating, the highest rating given.

July 1, 1965 — Dr. W. G. Workman, 77, native of this city and practicing physiciansurgeon here over 52 years, expects to start his retirement today — or as soon as Dr. Norman Lee returns from the New York World’s Fair. The genial doctor said he will discontinue office hours and making calls but that he will continue consultation, help with surgery, and assist in other ways at the hospital.

St. Mary’s Centennial Celebration is ready to take place after a year and a half of planning and hard work. The chairman of the Centennial Conmiittee, Dick Maertens said. “We may not have every member of the church involved, but there are hundreds who are working on it, and anyone who would say ‘yes’ to anything is doing something,” said Maertens.

June 28, 1995 — Bob Bruder of Tracy is District 417’s new Transportation Supervisor. Bruder succeeds Jans Visker, who resigned this spring. A graduate of Walnut Grove High School, Bruder completed a parts management program at Canby Vocational Technical College in July 1981.

June 29, 2005 — A dedication ceremony for the recently moved First United Presbyterian Church of Currie is planned Sunday, July 3, at 2 p.m. at the End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum in Currie. Zorada Silvernale Hoge — the Currie native who gave $65,000 to move and restore the historic church at End-O-Line — is expected to be in attendance. The church, built in 1872 or 1873, is thought to be the oldest building in Murray County. Originally called Lake Shetek Church, the congregation was organized in September of 1871 and is the longest established congregation in Murray County.

July 1, 2015 — Tracy leaders continue to consider options for providing economic development services in the community. At a meeting involving city council, EDA, and local business leaders, it was agreed to gather additional information about the possibility of contracting for community development services. Tracy has been without a full-time EDA director since Robert Gervais resigned to accept a job with Ralco in January.
