TRACY LEGION TAKES DOWN PIPESTONE

Brody Hauger doubled and singled, and Taylor Squires and Griffin Zick limited Pipestone to just one hit in an 8-2 in Tracy on Tuesday.

After Tracy went down in order in the first inning, Hauger got things going in the second with a deep lead-off double to left field. The next two Tracy hitters struck out, but Carson Lanoue was hit by a pitch and and Nolan Carlson walked to load the bases. Hauger, now on third base, scored on a wild pitch for a 1-0 lead.

Pipestone tied it in the third, but Tracy regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. Zick singled with two outs, stole second and would later score his first of two runs.

Tracy added two more runs in the fourth, again, both with two outs. Lanoue walked to lead off the inning, and after two strikeouts, Squires walked to put two runners on. Lanoue and Squires scored on a single by Jackson Kruse that made it 4-1.

The fifth inning brought two more Tracy runs. Hauger led off with a base hit, followed by a single by Aiden Sanow. Both would come around to score after walks to Tyson Petersen and Nolan Carlson.

Leading 6-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth, a Zick double Petersen walk and Lanoue single led to two more Tracy runs.

JUNE 30: EDGERTON 11, TRACY 1

Tracy lost to Edgerton 11-1 on Monday.

Tracy’s lone run came in the fourth inning. David Schuh reached on an error to lead off the inning and later scored on a single by Noah Knakmuhs.

Others getting hits for Tracy were Tyson Petersen, Trevor Smith and Carson Lanoue.

David Schuh started and gave up six earned runs in 2-1/3 innings, while striking out five. Lanoue pitched three innings.

BRODY HAUGER smacks a double to left field to lead off the bottom of the second inning against Pipestone on Tuesday. Hauger would come around to score Tracy’s first run on a wild pitch.
