The United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is once again collecting new school supplies to help local children start the school year ready to learn. Our annual Stuff the Bus initiative supports K-12 students by providing essential school supplies, easing the burden on families, and helping students feel confident and prepared.
This year, the most needed items include cap erasers, dryerase markers, folders, glue sticks, highlighters, Kleenex boxes, notebooks, pencils and pink erasers.
Tracy drop-off locations include Sanford and Minnwest Bank.
In 2024, this initiative distributed over 60,000 school supplies to nearly 4,000 students across 22 local schools. Supplies will be distributed to participating schools within the UWSWMN service area. Each school will manage its own distribution process. Families in need should contact their school district beginning Aug. 9, 2025, for more information.
Financial donations are welcome year-round and allow the UWSWMN to purchase supplies in bulk at a lower cost. Mail checks to: United Way of SWMN, P.O. Box 41, Marshall, MN 56258 (note “Stuff the Bus” on the memo line). Donate online: www. unitedwayswmn.org/STB
